500gsm Royal Egyptian Towels — 100% Cotton for Everyday Guest Comfort

Our 500gsm Royal Egyptian towels are 100% ring spun cotton, made for holiday lets and guest rooms that need a towel guests notice for the right reasons — without paying 700gsm prices. Available as face cloths, hand towels, bath towels and bath sheets, in 14 colours, with tiered pricing from single pieces to boxes of 480.

Key Features

  • 500gsm ring spun cotton — softer and more absorbent than open-end yarn
  • 14 colours, from White and Cream through to Navy Blue and Wine
  • Available single piece through to Box of 480 (bath towels) or Box of 4800 (face cloths)
  • Free UK mainland delivery on orders over £49.95 ex VAT

You've had the review that stings a bit: "towels felt a bit thin." It's usually not the guest being fussy — it's a 400gsm towel doing a 500gsm job. Royal Egyptian at 500gsm sits at the point most guest rooms and holiday lets actually need: enough weight to feel considered, not so much that turnaround laundry takes all day.

These are ring spun cotton, which matters more than the GSM number on its own — ring spinning twists the fibres tighter than open-end yarn, so the towel comes out softer and holds its absorbency for longer through repeat commercial washing. They're woven on shuttle-less looms with a proper dyeing process behind the colour range, which is why the 14 shades — from plain White through to Kingfisher and Royal Blue — hold their tone wash after wash rather than greying out after a season.

Pricing runs on the same tiered structure as the rest of our towel range: the more you buy, the more you save, whether that's a single bath sheet for a sample check or a box of 480 for a full refurbishment.

Care Instructions

Wash with similar colours in warm water. Use a mild detergent — skip the fabric softener and bleach, both flatten the pile over time. Tumble dry on low or air dry; over-drying is what makes towels go stiff, not the towel itself.

Why Buy

500gsm is the weight most guest rooms and holiday lets settle on once they've tried both ends of the range — heavy enough to feel like an upgrade from budget stock, light enough to dry between changeovers without a second dryer cycle. Ring spun yarn means the softness holds up past the first few washes, which is where cheaper open-end towels usually start to show their age. And because it's part of our core 500gsm stocked range, reorders match — no waiting on a new dye batch that's a shade off from your last delivery.

FAQs

Is this Egyptian cotton?

Royal Egyptian is our own name for this towel tier — it's not a claim that the cotton is grown in Egypt. It's 100% cotton, ring spun for softness, and part of our core wholesale range. If you'd like more detail on where the cotton's sourced, call us on 01204 653023 and we'll talk you through it.

What's the difference between this and your 400gsm or 600gsm towels?

400gsm dries fastest and suits high-turnover institutional laundry. 500gsm is the everyday balance most guest rooms land on. Our 600gsm range and 700gsm collection add more thickness and a longer wash life, at a higher unit cost. None is "better" outright — it depends on your laundry cycle and budget.

Do you offer this in bath sheets as well as bath towels?

Yes — bath sheets (90 × 150cm) are stocked alongside face cloths, hand towels and bath towels, all in the same 14 colours.

Can we order a sample before committing to a bulk order?

Yes, single pieces are available in every size, so you can check colour and handle before ordering boxes.

Is this suitable for commercial laundry, or only home washing?

It's machine washable and holds up to regular commercial cycles at warm temperatures — avoid fabric softener and high heat drying, which shorten the life of any cotton towel regardless of GSM.

How do I pay for a larger trade order?

Ltd companies can spread the cost with iwocaPay — up to £30k credit over 30 days or 3 months interest-free. Call 01204 653023 to set this up.
