What is Virgin Conjugated Hollowfibre — and how is it different from standard hollow fibre?

Standard hollow fibre is a plain tubular polyester fibre with no crimp structure. It compresses under weight and doesn't push back — which is why cheaper cushion pads go flat and stay flat. Virgin Conjugated Hollowfibre has a spiral crimp built into each fibre during manufacture. When compressed, the crimp acts like a coil spring and restores the fibre to its original shape. "Virgin" means it's produced from new polyester, not recycled material — which affects crimp consistency and fill loft over time. Corovin is a bonded non-woven polypropylene fabric — the outer casing that encloses the fill. It has high tear resistance and is porous enough to let the pad breathe. The reason it matters, particularly on cushion inserts at 20 inches and above, is that it holds the fill evenly distributed across the full face of the pad.
